MURRAY, Ky. 鈥� 麻豆直播 Greek organizations showcased a successful spring 2025 academic semester based on the recently released grade report.

Alpha Gamma Delta led the sororities among spring 2025 active members with an overall 3.57 GPA, while Sigma Phi Epsilon excelled among the fraternities with a 3.46 overall GPA.

Alpha Kappa Alpha and Alpha Tau Omega new members had an outstanding semester with a 3.61 GPA and 3.46 GPA respectively. Greek organization members had an overall GPA of 3.28, surpassing the overall undergraduate average of 3.19.

鈥淚 am beyond proud of our Greek community,鈥� said Kimberly Newbern, assistant director of the Curris Center and student life at Murray State. 鈥淏eing involved on campus provides students with an overall college experience that prepares them for post-graduation. Our fraternities and sororities are reminded that academics come first, and this continued success shows their hard work.鈥�

Dr. Don Robertson, vice president of student affairs and enrollment management, said he is very pleased that, once again, student members of fraternities and sororities have set a high standard for academic performance at Murray State. 

鈥淚 am very pleased to learn that once again the all-Greek GPA is higher than the all-campus average,鈥� said Robertson. 鈥淭his reflects the emphasis that our Greek organizations place on academic excellence, as well as leadership development and service to the University and the community. Our fraternities and sororities continue to be a point of pride for the University.鈥�

At Murray State, the all-Greek GPA has been higher than the all-campus GPA for the past 19 semesters. Individual organizations work diligently to be successful academically and compete yearly for the President's Cup, an award presented to the fraternity and sorority with the highest chapter GPA. In addition, Greek organizations have developed programming to help support members academically. Since it is imperative to a student's collegiate success that they succeed academically, both organizations and the Office of Greek Life provide academic assistance to help support Greek members.

The Murray State Greek community has 1,102 members at nearly 14% of Murray State鈥檚 undergraduate population. The mission of the Office of Greek Life is to promote an atmosphere where chapters and individuals can excel in leadership, scholarship, service and philanthropy and personal growth.
